The TSP267 is an AS568-267 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 8.234 in (209.14 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.512 in (216.2 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.
This material stands up to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.
You will find this material specified across chemical processing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
TSP267 ships individually. Review your operating media and conditions against this specification before installation. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
