Ordered as TSP330, this is an AS568-330 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.1 in (53.34 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.52 in (64.01 mm). The back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. The material holds up against strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals.
