This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-367 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D with an inside diameter of 7.475 in (189.87 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.895 in (200.53 mm), catalogued under part number TSP367. It installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

The material holds up against solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is known for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
