Part number TSP436 is an AS568-436 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.85 in (148.59 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.4 in (162.56 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. Expect good resistance to oxidizing media, steam, and strong acids and bases. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.
