This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-443 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 7.475 in (189.87 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.025 in (203.84 mm), catalogued under part number TSP443. It extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and very wide continuous service temperature range. It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and oxidizing media. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.

Typical settings include aggressive-media pipelines, chemical processing, and laboratory equipment.
