TSP449 is an AS568-449 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 9.975 in (253.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.525 in (267.34 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.

Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across laboratory equipment, aggressive-media pipelines, and semiconductor fabrication.
