APG stocks the TST007, an AS568-007 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.145 in (3.68 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.285 in (7.24 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The compound resists nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and strong acids and bases. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals.
