TST009 is an AS568-009 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.208 in (5.28 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.348 in (8.84 mm). In service, this back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

Expect good resistance to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) offers a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C).

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, food and beverage, and chemical processing.
