The TST025SO is an AS568-025 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.176 in (29.87 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.316 in (33.43 mm). This back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. This material stands up to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
