36 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST036SO is an AS568-036 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.364 in (60.05 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.504 in (63.6 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. The compound resists steam, solvents, and strong acids and bases. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C).
