This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-110 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D with an inside diameter of 0.362 in (9.19 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.568 in (14.43 mm), catalogued under part number TST110. It bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) is valued for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The compound resists oxidizing media, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
