130 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST130SO is an AS568-130 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.612 in (40.94 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.818 in (46.18 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against steam, solvents, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, aggressive-media pipelines, and laboratory equipment.
