140 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

APG stocks the TST140SO, an AS568-140 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.237 in (56.82 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.443 in (62.05 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. This material stands up to steam, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).
