209 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST209SO is an AS568-209 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.671 in (17.04 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.949 in (24.1 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. It resists steam, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.

It sees regular use in pharmaceutical and biotech, chemical processing, and aggressive-media pipelines.
