The TST215 is an AS568-215 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.046 in (26.57 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.324 in (33.63 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and steam. PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and excellent dielectric properties. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.

Typical settings include chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, and aggressive-media pipelines.
