TST234 is an AS568-234 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.984 in (75.79 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.262 in (82.85 mm). In service, this back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is specified for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. It resists solvents, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical and biotech, and chemical processing.
