264 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST264SO is an AS568-264 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.484 in (190.09 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.762 in (197.15 mm). In service, this back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. This material stands up to oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, chemical processing, and aggressive-media pipelines.
