Ordered as TST337SO, this is an AS568-337 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.975 in (75.57 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.395 in (86.23 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. It resists strong acids and bases, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.
