It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Polyurethane (AU/EU) is widely chosen for toughness that outperforms conventional rubber compounds, very high tensile strength and load capacity. It resists ozone, extrusion under high pressure, and abrasion and wear. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 200°F (93.3°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or ketones will shorten service life.

Typical settings include mining and heavy equipment, off-highway equipment, and high-pressure fluid power.
