It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Polyurethane (AU/EU) is known for exceptional abrasion resistance and toughness that outperforms conventional rubber compounds. The material holds up against abrasion and wear, petroleum oils, and ozone. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 200°F (93.3°C).
