The VBU90132 is an AS568-132 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.737 in (44.12 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.943 in (49.35 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

Expect good resistance to many acids, petroleum oils and fuels, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or hot water and steam will shorten service life.
