8-232 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90232 is an AS568-232 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.734 in (69.44 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.012 in (76.5 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

The material holds up against aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) offers the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and outstanding high-temperature capability. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or ketones and esters will shorten service life.
