This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-153 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile with an inside diameter of 3.487 in (88.57 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.693 in (93.8 mm), catalogued under part number VQ4153. It provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

The material holds up against aggressive chemicals, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters will shorten service life.
