The quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

It resists many acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments.
