-283 BLACK EPDM 70D O-RING

E70283 is an AS568-283 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 16.955 in (430.66 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 17.233 in (437.72 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, EPDM (EPR) is valued for good electrical insulating characteristics, excellent hot water and steam resistance. It resists brake fluid, ozone, UV and weathering, and dilute acids and alkalis. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Applications involving mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons call for a different compound.
