568-016 PTFE ORINGS FDA

The TFE016 is an AS568-016 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.614 in (15.6 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.754 in (19.15 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The compound resists oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and excellent dielectric properties. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery are present.
