Ordered as TFE244, this is an AS568-244 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 4.234 in (107.54 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.512 in (114.6 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

It resists steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, chemical processing, and food and beverage.
