The TFE255 is an AS568-255 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.609 in (142.47 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.887 in (149.53 mm). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is valued for a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.

Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across aggressive-media pipelines, food and beverage, and chemical processing.
