This o-ring is supplied in AS568-262 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 6.984 in (177.39 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.262 in (184.45 mm), catalogued under part number TFE262. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Expect good resistance to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and steam. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.
