The S70137 is an AS568-137 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 2.05 in (52.07 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.256 in (57.3 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is specified here for very good compression set resistance across its range, physiological inertness and low toxicity. The compound resists weathering, dry heat, and many oxidizing chemicals. Published continuous service range is -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving abrasive dynamic service or hydrocarbon fuels and oils call for a different compound.
