APG stocks the S70224, an AS568-224 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.734 in (44.04 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.012 in (51.1 mm). An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Silicone is valued for excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range. This material stands up to extreme heat and cold, weathering, and many oxidizing chemicals. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where hydrocarbon fuels and oils or abrasive dynamic service are present.

Common environments for this compound include pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage processing, and sanitary process lines.
